Amazon Adventure - Day 2

Day 2 -

So we woke up LITERALLY at the crack of dawn. I even have pictures of the sunrise to prove it, but they're actually BEAUTIFUL pictures. I'm so glad they turned out so nice. Then we had breakfast and got back into our motor canoes and headed over to the rainforest where we were going to go trekking for the day. We actually trekked through it for about 2 1/2 hours. And I mean that's the reason why we were there, but it was the worst morning I had the entire time I was there, I absolutely HATED it. I wanted to cry the whole time and freak out and was like get me out of this rainforest. We didn't really get to see any animals, just plants that smacked you in the face and fire ants that tried to eat your feet. It was soooo gross and the place was hoppin' for creepy crawlies which I LOATHE. And I know that it's all for the experience and now I can say that I've done it, but honestly I feel like I paid $1200 for this thing and if I didn't like it, I didn't like it and I can complain a lil bit. I PAID my dues to be able to whine slightly haha. Ok so I absolutely HATED the rainforest, we didn't even get to see any jaguars or anything like that haha. Just got eaten alive by bugs. OH and I completely forgot to tell you. Imagine walking through the rainforest (in long jeans and a long sleeved shirt mind you) in 110 degree heat with 95% humidity. I sweat ALOT, but I don't think I've EVER sweated that much in my entire life. So anyways, then after that we went and had lunch and headed over to a colony where natives of the rainforest lived. I can't remember the name of it... oops, oh well. It was really cool, it's where they used to have rubber tree plantations back in the day and the people that lived there were like ancient decendents of slaves. It was cool to see how simply they lived. We saw their school and then we got to go and play soccer against the locals. I didn't play of course because I hate soccer, but it was fun for the boys and then the girls who got to play against the locals. Then we left and headed over to the beach where they set up a beach party for us. It was sooooo cool. They even shot off some huge fireworks as we were approaching the beach, it was awesome. We then ate athentic brazilian BBQ (which is GOOD) and then we played musical chairs (when is the last time you played that game, haha 2nd grade... ya me too) it was awesome. Then we played tug a war and just a whole bunch of games and then headed back to the riverboats to go to sleep.
